Fool

Why do you who drinks seawater for thirst place your bottle down for but a second

And then complain of how badly you need drink?

Why do you find value in the teachings

And undergo the trainings of conduct and so forth

Only then to turn around and go back on this very work?

One’s actions are their own

One's intentions are their own

And only the stupid or the careless deny their future effects

Do not think no harm will come from loose conduct

Thinking that what is done is not seen

Not heard

Not felt, and so forth, if one is crafty enough

Two eyes watch every cruelty, every sleight-of-hand

Two ears hear every lie and every bitter word

If not purified, if not avoided, those same two eyes will see nothing but demons, nothing but one’s blood draining from one’s body

Those same two ears will hear nothing but growls, nothing but one's own desperate screams

To avoid these actions will help one in future lives likewise

Do you also avoid taking medicine just on account of the bitter taste?

How silly
